Our latest creation is a super nice Meteorite ring lined in Damascus steel, an innovative design from Rings Unique. This beauty combines the cosmic relic of a real 4.5B year old meteorite that hit the African desert on earth 30k years ago (in what is now Namibia) with folded Damascus steel. This is the Gibeon meteorite, named after the river bed near its landfall.
The Damascus lining is a new style folded stainless steel pattern inspired by the historical legacy of Wootz steel and Samurai swords of centuries ago.
This ring is for Christina’s fiance, Josh, a cool tech guy and super nerd. They are high school sweethearts and have a glorious wedding day planned for June. It has been a sincere pleasure to assist this beautiful couple with their ring selection, a process taking several months but worth every moment.
The Rings Unique Meteorite rings are made entirely in the United States using authentic Gibeon Meteorite from Namibia, Africa. The Gibeon meteorite is well known for its striking and irregular Widmanstatten lines. These lines are really iron ore crystals formed over millions of years with the slow melting of the molten meteor on its 4.5Billion year journey to planet Earth. The crystalline structure is exclusive to each segment of meteorite, making your ring unique in its pattern and a one-of-a-kind piece of art.
Regarded as one of the world’s most important Meteorites, the Gibeon Meteorite fell in pre-historic times in Southwest Africa and upon shattering in the atmosphere, spread over a fall field of hundreds of miles. It is speculated that smaller fragments may have been collected by natives and made into tools. Whatever the history, it is a fabulous mystery that you can wear on your finger and enjoy the story with friends over a lifetime.
